Get to know my art

Visual Artist, producent, critic

I've been painting for eight years. While being an artist is a difficult tug-of-war between my inner dreamer and critic, I've grown to love this process a lot. It hasn't just taught me much about the world, but also about myself.I'm also very interested in filmmaking, and I've been working as a producer for five years. My current focus is the freedom of women and men in my homeland.

"Unwanted Destiny" was my first short film, and everything turned out to be much more challenging than I had initially thought. It is a gripping short film that explores a man's struggle for survival and freedom. The film follows a man who is forced to leave his homeland due to a destructive Islamic regime and subsequently loses everything in his life. Through his story, I want to shed light on the severe consequences of political instability and how it can affect a person's life.

"Exploring Social, Political, and Artistic Realities in Iran:

My Writings and Thoughts"

In memory of Hamid Rasouli, one of the casualties of the nationwide protests in 2019 in Iran.

"The Murder of Hamid Rasouli, a Protester in November 2019 With the introduction of fuel quotas and the increase in gasoline prices on November 24, 2019, people in many parts of Iran protested against the government. The authoritarian clerical regime has consistently chosen to suppress rather than address the people's issues and listen to their demands. With extensive demonstrations in 29 provinces and hundreds of cities, the regime's security forces, Revolutionary Guard, and Basij militia were forced to open fire on the protesters, even using live and semi-military weapons. In these protests, over 1,500 innocent and unarmed young individuals were killed by the criminal authoritarian regime of the Ayatollahs, simply for protesting against high gasoline prices. Do Iran's young people have the right to die in the face of the regime's injustice and violence?

Hamid Rasouli was one of the victims in November 2019, a young man at 23 years old, full of dreams and hopes, who, if the bullets hadn't struck his abdomen and heart, would be alive today. Hamid had been unemployed for two years and was searching for a job. His protest was due to societal issues and living conditions, and to protest the prevailing situation, he took to the streets, but he never returned. Hamid was a very calm person and only protested against the existing situation."

My Writings and Thoughts"

"Summoning of Hengameh Ghaziani to Court"

"After the Iranian revolution in 1979 and the establishment of the authoritarian Ayatollah regime, women in Iran were subjected to forced hijab (veiling), leading to anger, threats, imprisonment, fines, and so on. The struggle against the enforced hijab continues to this day.

Twelve female actresses in the Iranian film industry were prohibited from working after they had participated in various events without the enforced hijab following the murder of Mahsa Amini during the Women's March of 1401 (2022), an event centered around women's rights and freedom.

Hengameh Ghaziani, a former political prisoner and actress, was summoned to court by the regime on Thursday, 10 Aban 1402 (October 20, 2023), on charges of spreading lies and propagating against the dictatorship regime. As per the decision of the Ministry of Culture and Guidance, this artist is not allowed to work in the film and television industry because she does not wear the hijab.

Many artists may, even against their desires, still collaborate with the corrupt state television in the Islamic Republic.

In such a situation, the only way to resist this unjust decision of the dictatorship regime is unity and solidarity among people, and supporting the female actresses in the Iranian film industry is a human duty.

Silence in the face of a dictatorship only empowers them further, and people are forced to comply with their demands. We must unite and fight together to overthrow the dictatorship regime. In Tomanj's words, we should not let the regime make decisions for us; the Iranian people are not slaves under the Ayatollah regime."

Due to her opposition to compulsory hijab, Roya Hashemi, a theater, cinema, and makeup artistry instructor, was detained in May for promoting against the system and posting unveiled images at night in her home. Maziar Tattaei, Roya Hashemi's lawyer, stated that his client was fined 1,250,000 tomans for unveiling and sentenced to 74 lashes for charges including endangering public chastity, anti-system propaganda, posting photos on social media, and opposing compulsory hijab. Tattaei also mentioned that, religiously, the whipping sentence for a woman should be executed by a woman under the supervision of a judge, but the judge left the room quickly and instructed them to lash slowly. During the lashes, Roya Hashemi quietly sang feminist chants, enduring the blows. The struggle of Iranian women against compulsory hijab continues, and we must unite and persevere in the name of women, life, and freedom to avoid the betrayal of those who have shed blood for freedom."

The European Union condemned the execution of Mohammad Qabadlou

The European Union condemned the execution of Mohammad Qabadlou.

"Another rope around the neck of a young person for the crime of protesting against their rights." Mohammad Gobadi, one of those arrested during the recent nationwide protests in Iran, was executed on the third day of Bahman. In response to international reactions, the European Union strongly condemned the Islamic Republic's execution of protesters. Various political figures from different countries found this execution troubling, and the Israeli ambassador raised the issue in the United Nations Security Council.

In a statement released on Tuesday evening, the European Union emphasized its strong condemnation of Mohammad Gobadi's execution and once again urged Iranian authorities to immediately halt the issuance and execution of death sentences against protesters. The EU's statement underscored that "the use of the death penalty in response to internal dissent is unacceptable" and described the number of executions in Iran last year and the current pace as "appalling."

Furthermore, the EU reiterated its call for the abolition of the death penalty in Iran and urged the authorities of the Islamic Republic to respect the legal rights of the accused and the fundamental rights of citizens, such as freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.

Iran needs support from all countries, organizations, and entities.

Silence suggests complicity in crimes and the murder of young people. These bloody days and the world's silence are neither forgivable nor forgettable. We fight, we die, but we do not accept humiliation.
